The Elections Committee is established by the SCNC Board before each election under the supervision of the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment (DONE) in accordance with the Los Angeles City Charter. This Committee plan, executes and oversees the annual elections to the Board of the Studio City Neighborhood Council.
My family moved to Studio City over 40 years ago, and my wife and I are now raising our three sons in this remarkable community. I have served on the SCNC Board since its inception, and am proud of the SCNC’s maturation into a credible and effective voice for Studio City. I also served on the L.A. Planning Commission, helped lead the City-wide coalition to rid our streets of unsightly newsracks, and for eight years have Co-Chaired the SCRA’s Committee to Save Studio City Golf & Tennis. I seek your support as an experienced leader and community advocate.
As a Studio City resident for over twelve years, I cherish the accessibility of Ventura Boulevard and the hum of neighbors and passers-by down Tujunga. I support the smart growth and development of Studio City inasmuch as it allows us to maintain the unique charm and security we all enjoy. As a recently married man and neighbor to many single women, I want to ensure the safety and privacy of visitors to this area. As your neighbor, I would be honored to be the Renters Chair on the Studio City Neighborhood Council.
I spent over a decade running vastly successful businesses after moving to the U.S. in 1994 with my wife Andrea and starting a family in Studio City. For the past several years, I have dedicated my time to putting my expertise and passion into serving our community. I am focused on getting the people's pulse on where they see Studio City going. In running for a second term on the SCNC, I want to keep City Hall aware and responsive to the area's needs, particularly when it comes to safety, traffic, controlling rampant development, and maintaining Studio City's unique character.
Studio City is where I'm raising my family. As an SCNC Board member and a past Chair of the SCNC Land Use Committee, I have tackled difficult development issues impacting our community and helped bring needed improvements which have benefited many stakeholders. I'm also on your Park Advisory Board fighting for more open space. As a homeowner, I firmly believe we must staunchly protect our quality of life by reducing growth, crime and congestion. VOTE FOR ME! Once re-elected, I will continue working hard to ensure the Studio City we love is here tomorrow, next month, and always.
I grew up in Hollywood and moved to Studio City 13 years ago, where I've lived and owned my home since. I'm an avid Mountain biker, bike advocacy is important to me. I have been practicing martial arts for 15 years. I work as a sound mixer for films and TV. I think it's very important to balance a physically active life with a busy and demanding career. I think Studio City has done so many things right and I want to be a part of helping preserve Studio City's charm while promoting intelligent and sustainable advances into the future.
My name is Jeremy Lipton-Schwartz and I am the current youth member of the SCNC. In our community I serve as a lifeguard at the local YMCA, I am a teachers assistant in the religious school at Temple Israel of Hollywood, and I go to Grant High School where I play three different sports. I would like to continue as the youth member because I am very interested in local politics and daily life.
